A message from your ICRI 2020 host
We look forward to welcoming you to Ottawa and to ICRI 2020! There is a buzz of excitement and optimism in the Canadian research community leading up to this event, which is supported with funding from the European Union. This sense of anticipation extends through our funding agencies, and the entire research community.
We plan to make our welcome to you as large as our country is wide and so warm that you will not even notice the tiny hint of cool in the air that presages the lovely fall foliage.
Research is a critical tool to strengthening our communities and addressing some of the most pressing transnational issues of our time. Climate change, food security, human health and poverty are among the major themes requiring solutions. If the problems are global, so too are the solutions.
Within our own countries we have national research labs, and others located in universities, colleges, hospitals and industry. We can learn from best practices as we use our resources wisely.
We look forward to a conference that is a veritable greenhouse for creative ideas for collaboration and innovative solutions to critical issues.
